Public Citizen has a long record of defending and fighting for citizen rights. It is the parent organization for many other organizations, including the one above it.

The Center for Responsive Politics is a non-partisan, non-profit research group based in
Washington D.C.
that tracks money in politics, and its effect on elections and public policy. The Center conducts computer-based research on campaign finance issues for the news media, academics, activists, and the public at large. The Center’s work is aimed at creating a more educated voter, an involved citizenry, and a more responsive government.
They have updated information for 2008 campaigns.

The duties of the FEC, which is an independent regulatory agency, are to disclose campaign finance information, to enforce the provisions of the law such as the limits and prohibitions on contributions, and to oversee the public funding of Presidential elections.
